A hidden person and hidden item game to help pass the time

Hidden Folks is a game that used to be the focus of books. There used to be books that were filled with things you need to find, such as the Where?s Wally books. Hidden Folks is very similar to those books to the point where the pictures are even hand drawn. Locate the items and people that the app asks you to find.

A prod and see game for hidden-object fans

The aim of the game is to tap the screen in various places to see what happens. For example, you may prod a crocodile and it will roar, and then prod a dog and it will drop an item you are looking for. You may click on a tent to unfurl it to find the person you are looking for, or prod a tree to find the bird you are searching for. There are over fifteen hand-drawn images that are interactive. You have to search out over 120 targets, some of which are people and some are items. There are over 200 unique interactions and over 960 sound effects.

Know what you are buying

If you are fully aware that this game is more like an interactive book, then you will be very pleased with how Hidden Folks works and the way it is played. Take as long as you like to explore the image without the time limits that many hidden-objects Flash games have. The hand drawn pictures are nice, but they would have been nicer if they had added a little colour.

PROS

  • A nice mixture between a game and a book
  • Similar to the Where?s Wally and Where?s Waldo books

CONS

  • The lack of color is a real shame
  • It becomes repetitive after level ten
